FLYDE certified by the “Pôle Mer Méditerranée” (March 2026 Steering Committee)

The Pôle Mer Méditerranée — a competitiveness cluster of global scope, certified by the French State since 2005 — announced in March 2026 the official certification of FLYDE following its Steering Committee (COPIL).

This certification marks an important milestone for the project: it acknowledges the strategic relevance, technological robustness and market potential of FLYDE in the field of innovative maritime logistics. The cluster brings together more than 500 scientific and economic stakeholders from the maritime sector across the Sud Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur, Occitanie and Corsica regions. Its label is a recognised gateway to public funding: according to the Pôle, nearly 75% of certified projects secure co-funding.

For FLYDE, this institutional recognition adds to an already dense trajectory: a generic SAIL II operational authorization granted by the DGAC in February 2026, a protocol signed with the South-East Air Navigation Services, a partnership with Côte d’Azur Airports, and Monegasque authorization for flights in the Principality. It also opens the door to new R&D funding, notably through the Pôle’s calls for projects (AAP Mer) and regional schemes.

The FLYDE project sits within several of the cluster’s Strategic Action Domains, including the “Ports, Logistics and Maritime Transport” and “Digital Transformation and Robotics” pillars. It is a concrete illustration of the transition towards a decarbonised blue economy championed by the cluster: replacing fossil-fuel logistics chains with 100% electric operations, supervised and optimised by artificial intelligence.
